Unaudited, self-noted Net Promoter Scores undermined the usefulness of NPS. Eventually its creator, Fred Reichheld, understood that the only solution to appropriate this issue was to introduce a hard, complementary metric that drew on accounting success. In the following paragraphs he and two colleagues from Bain introduce that metric: the acquired
